Emphasis on design and creation of bar coding systems and scanners at the Public Library and Detention Center using IPDS printer files. Creation of complex subfile programs in ILE-RPG and RPG/400 for the 911 Dispatch system and commissary sales systems.
- Developed a complete imaging system from scratch in Visual Basic with Bar Code to produce full color ID Cards with no camera equipment – only surveillance monitors. Programming of batch data collection and automated transmission and storage on the AS/400. Extensive Client Access/400 and TCP/IP experience.
- Extensive Local Area Network configuration and design of switched token-ring and Ethernet networks. Architected and installed the internet site at Rowan Public Library consisting of two Windows NT Servers installed from scratch. Created all DNS configuration files and E-Mail Server configuration as well as all DHCP address administration. Installed and configured C-Spec Wireless RF routers and created routing to allow the County’s Administration network to communicate with the Public Library’s network. All work was done with no outside consultants.
- Received the Ralph Ketner Productivity in North Carolina Government Award and Check for $1000 in recognition of AS/400 Commissary systems programming for Detention Center in 1995.
- Created web pages for November 1996 Election returns (Real-time) which were posted in complete automation by creation of HTML on the AS/400 then ftp transmission of the data to the NT Web Server.
